Steer matter paths with live decisions

An interactive installation - explore a flooded observatory where glowing matter builds paths from your movement, gaze and actions, with real-time Jev decisions deciding how the world responds, shipped as a playable web app with live-decision tests.

01 · Role in the system

What Jev does here

The observatory reacts to how you move and where you look: each player action becomes typed questions over the game state, and Jev's calibrated answers steer how the matter grows paths and what the flooded world does next - decided in real time through the official @typesafe-ai/sdk, with the decision endpoint exposed as an API route the client polls. Tests cover the live-decision flow, and the piece is playable at livingmatter.vercel.app. It sits between game and installation: the judgment engine is not scripting outcomes but continuously re-deciding how an environment behaves around the player.

02 · Control boundary

Where Jev sits

Jev as the live reactive brain of an interactive installation: player movement, gaze and actions become typed questions each frame, calibrated answers steer matter growth and world behavior through a decision API route, covered by live-decision tests.

Code owns the loop, permissions, thresholds, validation, and side effects. Jev owns only the bounded judgments described above.

03 · Known limits

What this evidence does not prove

  • Installation scope; the reactive behavior is artistic, not a game with win states.
  • 2 stars; decision latency on the live path is not published.
  • Requires the hosted Jev API; no offline mode.
